Yoga and Pilates are fitness disciplines both of which focus on the connection between mind, body, and breath. The practices systematically stretch and strengthen muscles throughout the body, increase circulation to internal organs and glands, quiet the nervous system, and improve concentration. Yoga and Pilates bring vitality, health, deep relaxation, and peace of mind.
The intention of the instructors at Body Balance Studio is to assist students in the development of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being: an ultimately priceless health advantage.
Classes offered include:
Hot Yoga- suited for all levels of students, from beginners to advanced yoga practitioners. The series has 30 postures and is practiced in a heated room in order to warm muscles for a safer,deeper stretch, soothe tendons and joints, and flush toxins from the body through heavy sweating. (90 minutes)
Vinyasa Yoga- practiced as a flow, much like a dance, linking the postures with the breath. It is a very dynamic, rigorous, and transformative practice. (75 minutes)
Prenatal Yoga- combines stretching, strengthening, and relaxation techniques to provide relief from common discomforts of pregnancy and to assist in preparation for labor and birth. This class is suitable for expectant mothers in any of the three trimesters. (75 minutes)
